I’m sure you’re aware that as a Charity, Cardiff Central Youth Club try to keep their fees as low as possible in order to enable them to make gymnastics accessible to as many people as possible, and one of the ways they do this is by fundraising and that is where the parents committee comes in.

The Chair of the Parents’ Committee is Natalie Moyle and the Vice Chair is Sally Chapman and here is a bit about what we do, our role is split into a few key areas:

  • Fundraising for the club – One of our main roles is to raise funds for the club, some of the recent events we have arranged are a charity bake sale, a Halloween party and a Christmas party, all of which were a great success. At present we are in the process of arranging an awards evening to celebrate the achievements of both the gymnasts and the Club. We are raising money for several different projects including some new much needed equipment for the club.
  • Social events – The Parents’ Committee provide the club’s social life by organising fun family events that can be enjoyed by all those connected with the club, whilst also raising money. The emphasis with these events is simply that they be as much fun as possible for children, parents, grandparents and extended families, and they include the Christmas party and the awards evening

We are always looking for volunteers to come up with ideas for fun events to raise money and help plan and deliver those events and although we have had some interest we would love the input of parents from all sections of the club. The money that we raise will be going towards projects or items that the parents committee decides on which means that you will be able to see your hard work pay off.
